WHAT IS WASPA?

A Wireless Application Service Provider (‘WASP’) is a third party or Content Provider that delivers services such as bulk SMS and MMS, USSD and Interactive Voice Response services to the public. We partner with a number of WASPs and Content Providers that specialise in various mobile Value Added Services (‘VAS’). We are a member of Waspa and 100% of our Content Partners are members of WASPA.

We are a member of Waspa and 100% of our Content Partners are members of WASPA. For the protection of all stakeholders involved, Telkom and MTN customers can formally lodge complaints with WASPA, who thoroughly investigate and resolve these complaints, in some instances issuing a sanction should a breach occur. Feedback is provided to all parties throughout the complaints handling process and any of the applicable rules are enforced. WASPA also provides a compliance role in the auditing of WASP services on behalf of the industry to further ensure compliance against the Code of Conduct.
